Kline’s selection for the Community Service Award was not surprising to John Dunn, Director of Sales and Marketing at HealthTeam Advantage.
“Shelby has a special way of connecting with not only our members, but seniors all around the Triad,” Dunn says. “She plans hundreds of events each year, and yet she gets to know so many folks by name. She’s always trying to support our members and others in the communities we serve.”
Kline holds leadership positions in several local organizations that HealthTeam Advantage supports, such as the Triad Honor Flight, Adult Children of Aging Parents Guilford County, the Triad Retirement Living Association, and the Greater Greensboro Senior Games. She earned a bachelor’s degree in recreation, parks, and tourism (emphasis in therapeutic recreation) and a master’s degree in recreation, parks, and tourism management (emphasis in recreation therapy) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), a Licensed Recreational Therapist (LRT) in North Carolina, a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), and a Licensed Assisted Living Administrator.
