Overview
HealthTeam Advantage is committed to supporting secure and convenient access to health information through our Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR)-based Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). These APIs allow HealthTeam Advantage members to authorize the secure sharing of their health information with approved third-party applications of their choice. In addition, developers may access publicly available provider, payer, and formulary data in accordance with federal interoperability requirements.
Our APIs and related processes support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Interoperability and Patient Access requirements under the 21st Century Cures Act by enabling the following:
- Allow third-party application developers to register member-facing applications to connect securely with HealthTeam Advantage APIs via our interoperability partner, 1UpHealth.
- Enable HealthTeam Advantage members to provide authorization for approved third-party applications to access their health information.
- Utilize the HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) standard to exchange member health information and non-member-specific information, including provider, pharmacy, and formulary data.
- Promote secure, standardized, and interoperable access to healthcare information, empowering members to better manage their care and health data.
Application Registration Process
Third-party application developers seeking access to HealthTeam Advantage’s FHIR APIs must complete the application registration process to obtain the credentials necessary to connect to our API platform.
HealthTeam Advantage has partnered with 1upHealth as our interoperability solution.
Registration Steps
1. Visit 1upHealth’s site.
2. If not already registered, sign up for a new 1up Account.
Important: Client credentials must be protected and used only in secure environments where confidentiality can be maintained. These credentials are intended for secure communications between your application and HealthTeam Advantage’s FHIR APIs.
3. After receiving the required credentials, developers may begin connecting to the 1upHealth environment in accordance with published technical specifications and applicable security requirements.
